samantha-zweben-jazz-unlimited-staffSammy came to Jazz Unlimited before the age of 3.  She was invited to be a member of the 1st Young Petite Ensemble ever before the age of 10.  At 15, she danced at the prestigious Carnegie Hall in NYC, and won “Critic’s Choice” at New York City Dance Alliance many years in a row.  Sammy was chosen to attend the Governor’s School of the Arts at 17.  She graduated Magna Cum Laude from Towson University, and danced on the #1 collegiate dance team in the country.  She also ran the Towson University Youth Dance Team, The Tigers 2.

After college she traveled to Beijing, China and danced with Team USA in the Olympic Village.  She was a principal dancer in the movies Step Up and Step Up 2: The Streets.  She is a proud member of SAG-AFTRA and Actors’ Equity Association.  She has been seen acting and dancing in dozens of national commercials, many soap operas and has had roles on TV shows such as Law & Order: SVU, Criminal Minds and Anger Management.  In Los Angeles, she directed and choreographed for a youth performance company, Theatre 31.  She’s enjoying work as a voice over artist, and is signed with Abrams Artists Agency in NYC.

Sammy is the Creative Program Director at Jazz Unlimited.  She believes that the love of dance starts right away, and wants to make sure Jazz Unlimited is a nurturing environment for all the dancers.

Sammy started her charity event, DANCE 4a CAUSE, 9 years ago.  She is so proud to share it with her dancers at Jazz Unlimited.  She is grateful that her students want to give back to the community, as well.  Sammy is a volunteer in hospitals with her dog, Dolly Parton, and is proud to have donated blood every 56 days for the last 17 years.

Sammy is so excited to share the Jazz Unlimited stage with her niece, Marissa for the 3rd year in a row.
