Michelle Arotsky

Dance has always been a passion and an essential part of Michelle Arotsky’s life.

Michelle began her dance training and artistic journey here at Jazz Unlimited at the age of three. Dance quickly evolved into an integral part of Michelle’s life; she became a member of the Jazz Unlimited Dance Ensemble at the age of nine, attending many workshops and performing in numerous competitions. After graduating from the Ensemble in 2015, her love for the arts and performing led her to attend Syracuse University and graduate with a BFA in Musical Theatre. Michelle spent her last semester with the Tepper Program in NYC where she lived and studied in the heart of Broadway with a faculty of industry professionals (you can still catch her taking classes in the sweaty, crowded studios of Broadway Dance Center and Steps on Broadway). Upon graduating, Michelle’s degree solidified that dance and theatre are an extension of who she is as a person, performer and storyteller.

Although Michelle is a Jersey girl at heart, she moved to the Big Apple with big dreams and a passion for the arts. Over the past couple of years, Michelle has been fortunate to have had the opportunity to work at several Regional Theatres: West Side Story, The Cunning Little Vixen (The Glimmerglass Festival – Cooperstown, NY), Elf: The Musical (Syracuse Stage – Syracuse, NY), West Side Story, Newsies (The Lexington Theatre Company – Lexington, KY), Matilda the Musical (The John Engeman Theatre – Northport, NY).

Growing up at the studio, Michelle assisted different faculty members and has always loved working with the younger dancers. While pursuing a career as a performer, Michelle is excited to be part of the JU staff and share her love and passion for dance and the arts. She hopes to inspire and pass down her profound love of dancing and performing to her students.
