Elyse Renshaw

Elyse started dancing at the age of three, and became a member of the Jazz Unlimited Dance Ensemble at the age of ten. Jazz Unlimited provided her with the opportunity to train under some incredible talents, including Billy Angell, Molly Misgalla, Carryl Slobotkin and Meghan Braun. With the ensemble, Elyse competed and performed all over the U.S, including famed Carnegie Hall in New York City, and Nationals in Las Vegas.

After graduating, Elyse attended Penn State University where she continued exploring her passion for dance and movement. She took numerous undergrad dance courses and was a member of Penn State’s Orchesis Dance Company. It was with Orchesis, that she was able to continue to train, but also delve into her excitement for choreographing and creating. They performed at various events across campus including Thon, as well as performing in their own Fall and Spring Showcases. Elyse graduated from Penn State with a B.S. in Kinesiology, and is currently a Health and PE teacher, where she has the pleasure of working with Philly Dancing Classrooms, to bring ballroom dancing to her students. She continues to educate herself in both the dance world and teaching world. She recently received her Masters in Education, and has continued to dance through various outlets, including coaching various cheer and dance teams, attending workshops, as well as taking class at Jazz Unlimited! Elyse is excited to be back and share her passion for dance!
