Jazz Unlimited's Guest Teachers/Choreographers

Sammy came to Jazz Unlimited before the age of 3. She was invited to be a part of the 1st YOUNG PETITE Ensemble ever before the age of 10. At age fifteen, she danced at the prestigious Carnegie Hall in NYC, and won "Critic's Choice" at New York City Dance Alliance many years in a row. Sammy was one of 12 dancers (out of hundreds) chosen to attend the Governor's School of the Arts at age seventeen. She graduated Magna Cum Laude from TOWSON UNIVERSITY, and danced on the #1 collegiate dance team in the country.

She is a proud member of the Screen Actors Guild, American Federation of Television and Radio Artists and Actor's Equity Association. While Sammy's first passion was, and always will be dance, she loves her life as a professional actress.

After living in New York City, she moved to Los Angeles, California, last year. Although she doesn't get to come back to her JU home as often as she'd like, Sammy is grateful for the time she gets to teach her students who she misses dearly.

ANTHONY RUSSO

Originally from the midwest, Anthony J Russo has made his home in New York City since 2003.  Over the years, his teaching and performance experiences have grown to include everything from the street to the stage.  Anthony was hired for his first Equity contract in "Anything Goes" at The Muny back in St Louis, MO. Soon after, he left high school to join a national tour of Tap Dogs and continued with the show for 10 years through North America, Europe, and South Africa. (went back and graduated on time!)  In 2009, Russo was hired for the creation process and tour of Cirque Du Soleil's vaudeville show, "Banana Shpeel" in Chicago, New York, and Toronto.  His latest tour in 2011 was with the new show,"Tap Stars", a new tap show featuring Rasta Thomas' Bad Boys Of Dance.  In between tours, Russo has taught for numerous dance studios and conventions including Broadway Dance Center, Steps on Broadway, JUMP regional and nationals, DMA, DEA, Slide in NYC, Hall Of Fame Nationals, Break The Floor, and over 100 dance studios with his own in-studio tap workshop, Tap The Map.
